Telomeres

weight lifting suplements

I read that there has been some new study showing that steroid and growth hormone users have significantly shorter telomeres. shortening of telomeres has been linked to aging in average population. I’m no bio-fag but maybe somebody here knows more details?
I read it on some blog a few weeks ago, written by somebody who attended a scientific conference. can’t remember or find the exact sauce.

Mate, these bodybuilders take so much fucking drugs, you have no clue, not just test,gh,and insulin but tons of over the counter shit, supplements, stuff to prevent balding, tons of things to prevent the sides, and I’m not just talking about nolva and clomid. So you can never really know, because of all the junk they have in them.

Its like why crystal meth is so bad for your teeth. Theirs so much other junk in it that there is going to be problems.

Growth hormones are prescribed to the elderly to get them back to a “younger” body function, and you’re telling me that it ages the average person? No

roids and hgh promote faster growth in body tissue. since telomeres get a little damaged after each cell division it would seem logical that somebody with relatively high cell division rate has shorter telomeres on average than a person with normal recovery/growth rate. it has nothing to do with how young the person looks or feels at the moment.
telomeres are like a buffer zone on chromosomes and help against mutation during cell division etc.
when they get too short, diseases like cancer are more probable.
